Very good place to do your IDC training !
Sairee cottage amenities are really nice with an aircon classroom, pool dedicated to divers, boat dedicated for training and a really nice crew around.
Marcel is a really good experienced course director who will not only give you the necessary skills to succeed the final exams but also gives you a lot more insights about the industry, good practices, teaching advice, advice about finding jobs and more. For the training part it is definitely worth the price and will give you the tools to succeed in the industry
Still it is IDC bubble inside a Koh Tao bubble, not everywhere is work only based on commissions, not everywhere you will need to teach huge students groups to expect to make a living, not everywhere you will need to do agressive marketing and selling.
Koh Tao is still Koh Tao, something apart of the rest of the world, definitely not Thailand anymore. One of the only place (if not the only place) I felt unsafe on almost any fun dive. Enforcing DSMBs and dive knives are a very good move, if only boat captains would respect a safe distance from divers and swimmers. This is not PADI standards, just common sense !
