Absolutely Incredible! Only a few days have come and gone since I finished my IDC here on Koh Tao at Sairee Cottage Diving with the amazing PADI Platinum Course Director Marcel Van Den Berg and his outstanding staff instructor for the month Martin Walsh (Special shoutout to Martin for being outstanding, so informative and of course so helpful during our IDC. You are an inspiration to diving as well and I hope to learn along side you some more in the future.) Let me just start by saying if you have ANY doubts about the shop, the course director, the staff, or even in yourself…stop. Remember to breathe. Marcel and his team go above and beyond for each individual student. I was not sure what to expect as this was my first time traveling to Thailand on a whim and hoping that I had made the right decision for my future. I can say now that I 200% believe this is where I was meant to receive my instructor training (along with the MSDT training and soon to be Staff Instructor training!!!) Not only did Marcel meet all of my expectations as a Course Director for PADI but he far exceeded them. He is beyond passionate about what he does for a living and it truly shows every minute of everyday that you spend with him in and out of the classroom. He believes in an honest and realistic approach which is perfect for everyone that wants to know how to become a great instructor but also a better person. Many people may often be turned off from doing an IDC in a 2 week time frame because they are nervous or worried about the intensity of the program. Yes some days are long, but you hardly notice it with Marcel’s interactive and engaging teaching style. There are loads of extra materials to help better prepare you for anything that you may feel you are lacking in. If this still isn’t enough to convince you to come out and do your IDC at Sairee Cottage, again stop…remember to breathe. Ladies and Gentlemen the point is, that overall if I could I would give Marcel, Sairee Cottage Diving and their staff a 6 out of 5 stars. I can’t imagine going anywhere else. I will forever recommend Sairee Cottage Diving to future divers and Marcel as a Course Director. Thank you so much for everything Sairee Cottage Diving! And again even more thanks to Marcel and Martin for such a fantastic experience. Words will never express how proud I am to be part of your team.
